Podcasts and Flotsam

February 9th, 2005

So I’ve been listening to podcasts [definition] lately, trying to see what all of the blype is about. I think I really “get it,” but at the same time I’m really underwhelmed.

For the most part, most of the podcasts I’ve listened to have been unimpressive. A prime example being the #1 Rated Podcast on PodcastAlley.com, The Dawn and Drew Show. Don’t interpret this as a bashing of the Dawn and Drew Show. They have quite a following, or podscriber-base, if you will (sometimes I sicken myself), and these people seem to really be into their show. It’s just not my thing.

I have however really gotten in to the Daily Source Code, which, I know, makes me the like 10,000,000th person to do so. It’s the DSC that has shown me the potential of podcasting I guess. It’s just a shame that most other podcasts I’ve heard haven’t interested me particularly.

Anyways, all of this to say that I finally got around to listening to the Digital Flotsam podcasts today, and boy are they great. It’s also great to find a great podcast that’s not in the form of the DSC.

So yeah, if you haven’t checked out the flotsam yet… you should!
