Amazon’s new “Mechanical Turk” service will pay you for completing small tasks for them or third parties. Tasks include picking the best picture of a building, or refining a product description.

DVDisaster – Safety from data loss
November 2nd, 2005 at 1:32 amStumbled across this project today… Basically this program creates ‘error correction codes’ of your uncorrupted originals, and then later if the dvd/cd gets horribly scratched it can use those codes to rebuild the gaps from any unreadable sections of the disc. More space-friendly than trying to backup full images of all your movies/games/etc.
