This has been going around the internets for the past week, but it still cracks me up. There was a time when I was a kid when I loved Weird Al. I haven’t really heard any of his albums since the Jurassic Park one. This song, and the video in particular, is really funny.

Embedded below, Penn and Teller take on the history of Profanity in an episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit! (Embedded, at least until the video is taken off of Google Video)
Bullshit! (also known as Penn & Teller: Bullshit!) is an American, Emmy-nominated television series, running since 2003 on the premium cable channel Showtime. The series has achieved worldwide success, being shown in countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The series is hosted by professional magicians/comedians Penn and Teller. Four seasons have aired, and it has been renewed for a fifth season, currently in production.[1] The show reflects the atheist, libertarian stance of the duo, and inherits their characteristically blunt, aggressive presentation. Two would-be robbers tried to mess with the wrong girl in Nova Scotia… However, the teenager, fully trained in the 2,500-year-old martial art of jujitsu, used a defensive technique to punch one of the men in the face, knocking him to the ground. When the second man came at her, she kicked him in the groin and punched him in the shoulder.
Both men ran away – without the knapsack.
There is nothing I could possibly say to make this story more awesome.

With the anticipated July 4th 2007 release Transformer fans all around the world want to know who will be the voice of Optimus Prime.Petter Cullen? Hopefully. I don’t think it will be quite as good if it isn’t.
Here’s my biggest WTF moment from the article: “Soundwave’s alternate mode as a cassette deck, for instance, doesn’t have quite the same appeal as it did in the ’80s, and he will instead change into a helicopter” [emphasis mine].
It’s interesting how they’re presenting the movie in this article like it’s going to be amazing, despite saying that the primary writer has left to work on another movie, and not only that, but his biggest claim to fame (according to the article) is having been a writer for “Cosby” (1996) (note, that’s not “The Cosby Show” (1984), but rather the other, later, Cosby show with Sanka from Cool Runnings) and having written 2004’s Catwoman. Wow. Just… wow.

Rick Mercer (previously of This Hour has 22 Minutes and Monday Report, now Rick Mercer’s Report) has apparently started up a blog. So far the entries have been every bit as sharp as his television bits, so this is great. Out of the 5 posts he’s made so far, my favourite is a tie between “Holy crap! They moved me to Tuesdays.” and “Jason Kenney: Marxist Leninist.”
So the show will now be called “The Rick Mercer Report.” I was going to go with “Rick Mercer’s Tuesday Report” but I don’t have the money to order new t-shirts at Christmas when they move us to Wednesday afternoon. Keep The Audience Guessing is our motto.
